This week’s theme is all about the sexy talk. As writers, we define talk in different ways. Sometimes it’s the way we look at our lover with a caress in our gaze. Other times it’s with our hands with not a word uttered.
In Carnal Innocence, Callie is a naïve young woman experiencing her first love. Unfortunately, it comes on the heels of a devastating mutilation at the hands of a psychopathic kidnapper.
Nate, an ex-Special Forces private investigator, is tasked by the military to keep her out of terrorist’s hands and by his heart to bring her gently into his world. A world of D/s, where paranormal talents don’t exist, and one wrong move could cost Callie her much-treasured freedom.
“I love chocolate.”
“Good. Open up.” He didn’t need to tell her his approach for rewarding good behavior. She’d know. The point made—he wouldn’t push.
“So what are we going to do today?” The small smear on her upper lip begged to be licked off.
He refrained.
She didn’t flinch when he reached up to wipe it with the pad of his thumb. Her eyes widened and jaw dropped. The pulse rate in the base of her neck increased, as did the rise and fall of her chest. Touching her lips with his chocolate smudged finger, he growled when she cleaned it with her tongue. A natural.
After the clinical efficiency in which he’d washed her body, she’d feel the difference with his touch now. Her expression exhibited certain knowledge of future expectations and even eagerness. Her sultry gaze spoke volumes.
I’m in deep shit.
Very nice snippet, Shyla. I love how he acknowledges he's the one in trouble. Wonderful! Thanks for sharing and being part of My Sexy Saturday.
